In 1937 or 1938, a young man named Ivan Tietz decided to get a picture of him and his 1928 Chevrolet at the State Street tunnel on Putnam Drive in Eau Claire, Wisconsin

In 1963, Ivan’s son David Tietz, having seen the picture above, decided to get a picture of him and his 1957 Dodge at the same spot. If you look closely, you will see some of the same rocks in the wall by the tunnel.

In 1993, David’s son Brian Tietz, posed for the same picture with his 1989 Mitsubishi Precis at the same spot. State Street was lowered, the tunnel removed and replaced by a huge culvert. Some of the stones in the road might still be the same though!
