Hints for packing the Miata

In the Luggage Set page, I describe a set of luggage I found at the local K-Mart that just fits the standard 90-97 Miata trunk. In addition, I found that reversing the stiffing bar behind the seats gives you room for two additional pieces of luggage (or frees up that much space in your trunk).

I don't know why Mazda chose to bend the bar, putting it right in the middle of the "shelf", but turning it around gives you more usable space. It does cost 2 seat adjustment "clicks", meaning you can't put the seat all the way back, but for my wife & I, we don't need the seats that far back, and it works for us!
